This piece started as a twenty-minute sketch from a rooftop in Patan during an actual monsoon downpour.

Ink-wash lets rain and mist bleed into the paper in a way that's almost impossible to control precisely — which is exactly the point.

The print process

Every print is scanned from the original at high resolution and printed on archival paper, so the texture of the original brushwork still comes through.
